‘Higher Secondary Biology’ is the latest Biology textbook in for the students of Class 12 under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. Under the New Curriculum & Syllabus 2024, Class 12 examination will be conducted in two parts – Semester 3 and Semester 4. This book is prepared to cater the Sem 4 students only.
The book comprises of 3 units segregated into 8 chapters in total. The Units are ‘Biology and Human Welfare (Unit VIII)’, ‘Biotechnology and Its Application (Unit IX)’ and ‘Ecology and Environment (Unit X)’ respectively. Along with the existing topics, new topics and subtopics have been added in some chapters namely Chickungunya, Dengue, SARS (COVID), Allergy, Autoimmune Disorders, Antibiotics, Stem Cell Therapy, Sacred Groves, Ramsar Site, Solid Waste Management, Radioactive Waste Management, etc. Diagrams, flow charts and tables have been added in plenty to make explanations comprehendible. For Semester 4, all types of questions have been added as prescribed by the Council. They are:

• SAQ Type II – 3 marks
• CBQ – 4 marks
• LAQ – 5 marks
Mock Test sets following the Latest Question Pattern have been incorporated at the end of the book.
